Herbal lipstick is a natural cosmetic product prepared using plant-based ingredients and offers a safer alternative to synthetic lipsticks. The present study aimed to formulate and evaluate herbal lipstick using natural colorants such as hibiscus flower powder, beetroot powder, butterfly pea flower powder, and rose petal powder. Beeswax, cocoa butter, and castor oil were used as base materials to provide hardness, smoothness, and moisturizing properties. Three formulations (F1, F2, and F3) were prepared using different concentrations of ingredients and evaluated for various parameters, including organoleptic properties, melting point, pH, solubility, skin irritation, perfume stability, and aging stability. The results showed that all formulations possessed an attractive natural color, acceptable pH, and good stability without causing any skin irritation. The melting point ranged from 58°C to 65°C, indicating suitability for normal storage conditions. Among the formulations, F2 and F3 exhibited better smoothness and stability compared to F1. The study concluded that herbal lipstick prepared from natural ingredients is safe, eco-friendly, stable, and effective. It provides nourishment and hydration to the lips while avoiding the harmful effects associated with synthetic cosmetic products. Therefore, herbal lipstick can be considered a promising and sustainable alternative in the field of natural cosmetics.
