Abstract

In the contemporary landscape of vehicular safety and tracking systems, this research presents a comprehensive solution for a real time vehicle tracking system with an integrated accident detection mechanism. The core hardware components include a PIC microcontroller, piezo crystal, and an AVR ATmega controller interfaced with GSM and GPS modules. The AVR controller interfaces seamlessly with GSM and GPS modules, enabling real time location tracking and immediate response to potential accidents. The piezo crystal serves as a vibration sensor, converting analog signals to digital through the PIC microcontroller's ADC. Upon an accident detection event, the PIC microcontroller communicates crucial data to the AVR ATmega controller, which orchestrates the subsequent actions. In essence, this research contributes to the advancement of intelligent transportation systems by presenting an integrated solution that enhances vehicle safety, tracking, and incident response. The innovative combination of hardware components and software interfaces showcases the potential for widespread adoption in fleet management and individual vehicle tracking applications.
