Abstract

Natural dyes can lessen the danger of artificial dyes. The purpose of this review is to explain the many raw materials used in the extraction of natural dyes, the extraction technique for various natural dyes, and the very good fastness properties that natural dyes have demonstrated in studies. Trees, bark, leaves, flowers, and several other materials can all be used to extract the dyes. As more people become aware of the allergic, poisonous, and dangerous reactions that synthetic dyes can produce, the market for natural colors is growing. Natural colorants are taken from naturally occurring sources. Natural dyes can lessen the danger of artificial dyes. Like indigo, pomegranate, and henna, turmeric has been used as a natural textile dye for thousands of years. This research aims to investigate the different raw materials used in natural dye extraction as well as the extraction process for each type of natural dye. The dyes can be extracted from trees, bark, leaves, flowers, and a variety of other sources. Most natural dyes have special properties like UV protection, antibacterial properties, and reduced toxicity and allergic reactions.
