A Study to Assess the Attitude Regarding the Intensity of Pain During Menstruation Using TENS Simulator Among Men at Sharda University

Menstruation is a normal phenomenon that occur in women for almost 30-36 years. It is the shedding of endometrium lining of the uterus. Menstrual cramps simulator (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve stimulation) is a device that is used to create pain similar to menstrual pain. Men though, have mixed thoughts and views towards menstruation and menstrual pain. The current study used a five-point Likert scale to evaluate the attitude and pain scale to assess the perception of pain regarding intensity of menstrual cramps. Total of 60 participants were used the menstrual pain simulator. The results showed that majority of male felt moderate pain (61.6%), (38.3%) male felt severe pain and none of them had felt mild pain. Maximum of participants has changed their attitude after using menstrual cramp simulator.
