Abstract

Diabetes in children is a life-threatening condition if caregivers are not vigilant about their children's fluctuating sugar levels. The symptoms can arise either in childhood or adolescence, or they can occasionally appear much later. The pathophysiology of T1DM is believed to involve T cell-mediated death of β cells; however, the exact cause of the disease is unknown. Children must rely on lifelong insulin injections because there is no cure for this. Children with diabetes mellitus require ongoing assistance and direction from their parents. If their families don't think they can handle themselves, they could find coping difficult.
