Abstract

The evolution of healthcare offers significant potential to address these challenges. Applications enable remote monitoring and real-time data exchange, empowering patients to remain in their homes while receiving attentive care. A system tailored explicitly to paralysis patients could bridge the communication gap by allowing patients to communicate through detectable movements. This paper proposes a low-cost, movement-based solution that utilizes a PIC18F4520 microcontroller and ADXL335 accelerometer to recognize patient movements and send alerts to caregivers in real-time. The system enables effective communication without needing continuous caregiver presence by identifying specific movements and translating them into digital signals.
