In this paper, we conduct an extensive performance analysis of several digital modulation schemes influenced by Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channels. We specifically focus on evaluating M-ary Phase Shift Keying (MPSK), M-ary Pulse Amplitude Modulation (MPAM), M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (MQAM), and M-ary Frequency Shift Keying (MFSK) with both coherent and non-coherent detection. The study examines these modulation techniques' Bit Error Rate (BER) performance across Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) conditions, providing an in-depth look at each scheme's resilience to noise. By combining theoretical derivations with extensive simulations, we assess the capability of these modulation schemes to maintain signal quality and integrity within AWGN environments. The findings deliver valuable insights into the balance between spectral efficiency and error performance, offering recommendations on selecting suitable modulation schemes for diverse communication system applications.
