Abstract

Disorders of the mind can affect both adults and children. Many CNS-related issues are included in psychiatric illnesses; they include Alzheimer's, stress, depression, anxiety, Schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and other conditions. In terms of management, various medications are available, and as they affect the central nervous system, they are known to cause drowsiness and sedation. Using phytochemicals, we can prevent undesired medication interactions and deliver more effective treatment with fewer adverse effects. In the traditional medical system, herbs are the primary source for treating infections and other illnesses. Why use pharmaceutical sources of therapy when natural ones, like plants, are available?

This article offers details on phytochemicals that are crucial to the treatment of mental illnesses.
