Abstract

In addition to the fact that nonfatal musculoskeletal injuries carry a heavy financial burden, prevention and surgical care have received relatively little funding compared to other pressing international health concerns, such as AIDS and other infectious diseases. When addressing the burden of musculoskeletal injuries, prevention should be the primary focus. To reduce unnecessary expenses, management from first aid to rehabilitation should also be carefully optimized. However, given the difficulty in measuring the efficacy of preventative measures and treatment optimizations, the societal burden of musculoskeletal injuries remains significant worldwide.
