Title: Effectiveness of Cognitive training on knowledge regarding advanced method of oxygen administration among 3rd year BSc nursing students of SPGMCON at Bharathinagara. Background and objectives: Most of the respiratory failure occurs due to lack of oxygen. The knowledge regarding oxygen administration is very important among nursing students to save the life of people. In adequate knowledge regarding oxygen administration, failure to recognize the criticality. The demonstration method accurately helps in developing of the skills of the individual about oxygen administration. Total 28 students participate in the study and there is statistically significant improvement was found. Objectives of the study: 1. To assess the pre-test level of knowledge among Third year BSc nursing students regarding advanced methods of oxygen administration 2. To administer the Cognitive training among Third year BSc nursing regarding advanced method of oxygen administration. 3. To assess the effectiveness of Cognitive training among Third year BSc nursing regarding advanced method of oxygen administration. 4. To find the association of pre-test knowledge and Method: The study was pre-experimental carried out for a period of one month in SPGM college of Nursing Bharathinagara. The sample selection was done by using Non probability convenient sampling technique to select 28 samples who are studying in 3rd year BSc nursing students in SPGMCON. The paired âtâ test was used to find the effectiveness of the cognitive training. The chi square test was used to find the association between pre-test practice score with selected demographic variables at 5% level of significant Result: The result of the study showed that the mean pre-test score is 11.8 and it signifies that the knowledge regarding advanced method of oxygen administration among 3rd year BSc nursing students Smt Padma G Madegowda college of Nursing is reduced. The mean of pre- test is 11.8 the mean of the Post test is 18. 9. Conclusion: The study's findings can have implications in education, practice, and administrative areas of nursing, including research knowledge of oxygen administration among nursing students for live saving. The present study highlights knowledge regarding advanced method of oxygen administration while caring the patient with breathing difficulty and respiratory failure. The advanced curriculum should be prepared in view with practical applications of the different methods of oxygen administration. The nursing education institution should conduct educational programs like training programs to increase the understanding level of the students. The present study showed its importance in the clinical settings and practical application in various emergency situation. care on advanced method of oxygen administration techniques, as this may increase positive care outcome. Advanced method of oxygen administration places a key role in recovery of individuals suffering from unexpected respiratory emergency and saves lives. Hospital administration should take necessary steps to implement the learnt concepts into realistic situation. Organizing seminar, Conferences and many other hands-on training programs would be beneficial to the students at longer view.
