Cataract can be managed with drugs as well as non-pharmacological measures, which include lifestyle modification and various types of surgeries. The present study was done to assess knowledge of cataract and its associated risk factors. The prevalence is significantly higher in the geriatric population. A descriptive study was conducted in Santhemarahalli, Chamarajanagar, to assess the understanding of adults and older individuals regarding the prevention and management of cataract conditions. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of information, education, and communication packages on the attitudes and knowledge of patients in managing visual risks. This research employed inductive and descriptive statistics to analyse the data, utilising a single-group pre-test pre-experimental study design. The results of the study were evaluated in relation to the established objectives. The results of the study showed that the program effectively improved intermediate outcomes for cataract patients by increasing their knowledge, enhancing blood pressure management, and significantly reducing each patient's individual cardiovascular risk profile. Participants were provided with information regarding cataract disease and attended multiple health education sessions. It was evident after the intervention that the patients' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to cataract treatment had significantly improved.
