Abstract

As global life expectancy increases, the care of older people has become a critical focus of healthcare systems worldwide. Elderly care, or geriatric care, addresses the complex and multifaceted needs of aging individuals, encompassing physical, emotional, social, and financial dimensions. Key aspects include managing chronic conditions, promoting mobility, and providing adequate nutrition, which are essential for maintaining health and independence in older adults. Emotional well-being is equally important, as older adults are at higher risk of social isolation, depression, and cognitive decline, necessitating supportive interventions like social engagement and mental health services. Additionally, integrating technology, such as telehealth and assistive devices, has shown promise in enhancing the quality of life for older people by facilitating remote monitoring and communication. The role of caregivers is crucial, and there is a growing need for caregiver support systems, including education, respite care, and emotional assistance, to prevent burnout and ensure adequate care. As the aging population continues to grow, it is imperative to adopt a comprehensive approach to elderly care that involves collaboration among healthcare providers, caregivers, and community resources to meet the evolving needs of older adults and promote aging with dignity.
