Abstract

Motherhood is a lovely experience. Many women go through a wide range of overwhelming feelings during pregnancy and the postpartum period. These feelings include anticipation, excitement, happiness, and fulfilment, as well as worry, frustration, bewilderment, and feelings of grief or guilt. Postpartum Support International reports that between 15 and 20 percent of new moms have a severe episode of a mood or anxiety problem within their first few months of motherhood. Worldwide, issues pertaining to the mental health of mothers constitute a significant public health concern. The prevalence of postpartum depression (PPD) among women throughout the world is estimated to be as high as 18% by studies at the present time. According to the findings of the evaluation, the standard deviation of the pre-test knowledge score was between 6 and 15, with a mean of 10, 2.16, and the post-test knowledge score ranged from 16 to 25, with a mean of 21.33, 2.4. This indicates that the knowledge level had increased after the administration of SIM. Nurse’s work in mental health is a big part of what makes nurses so important in health care. The mix of care and compassion help patient feel trusted and help to remove the shame that can come with issues related to mental health? Although nurses are excellent at screening for mental disorders during the perinatal period, there are obstacles that prevent them from doing so. These obstacles include a lack of information and skills about postpartum psychiatric illness, as well as a heavy workload and time pressure. The goal of this research is to improve information, which will ultimately result in the prevention, early detection, and treatment of postpartum mental disorder, as well as the promotion of mother mental health.
