The speedy development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its latest technologies is making a revolution in the modern library systems, particularly with the Web-based Online Public Access Catalogue (Web OPAC) used in libraries. Though AI cannot replace human intelligence, it plays a vital role in every academic as well as non-academic activity. It's the time of evolving Library 6.0 with its key agents like artificial intelligence, big data analytics, blockchain technology, augmented reality, virtual reality, etc. Since AI is one of the key agents of Library 6.0, it is dominating everywhere and every technology. So, there is a need of studying about the features of AI in library applications, especially about Web OPAC systems, which has become inevitable. To explain the step-by-step integration of artificial intelligence in Web OPAC and the total library automation, an initiative was taken by the author and did a study on the academic libraries regarding the integration of AI in the Web OPAC systems of Academic Libraries. Finally, the author concluded that the existing library Web OPAC systems are to be improved with the technologies of Library 5.0.
