Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science focused on creating systems that can carry out tasks typically requiring human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and understanding natural language. AI is broadly categorized into narrow AI, which focuses on specialized applications such as chatbots, recommendation systems, and image recognition, and general AI, which aspires to perform intellectual tasks across domains at human-level competence.
The rapid progress in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing has driven the widespread adoption of AI across healthcare, finance, education, manufacturing, and daily consumer applications. Open-source tools and large-scale models, such as those developed by OpenAI, have democratized access, fostering innovation and collaboration.
However, the rapid growth of AI also raises concerns related to ethics, bias, transparency, job displacement, and security, requiring careful regulation and alignment with human values. AI holds immense potential to transform society by enhancing efficiency, creativity, and decision-making, making it one of the most impactful technologies of the 21st century.
