Design and Optimization of Compact Wideband Dual-Polarized Crossed Dipole Antenna for 5G Sub-6 GHz Applications

Abstract

The evolution of 5G communication demands compact, wideband, and dual-polarized antennas that can operate efficiently in sub-6 GHz frequency bands. This paper presents the design and optimization of a compact wideband dual-polarized crossed dipole antenna specifically tailored for 5G sub-6 GHz applications. The antenna is engineered to achieve a bandwidth exceeding 50%, good isolation between polarization ports, stable radiation patterns, and a low-profile structure. Full-wave simulations are conducted using CST Studio Suite, and performance metrics such as reflection coefficient (S11), bandwidth, isolation, and radiation efficiency are analyzed. The proposed design demonstrates strong potential for base station and MIMO applications, offering a viable solution for current and future wireless communication networks.
