Soil oversaturation is a major problem in agricultural belts like Khammam and Suryapet, where waterlogging reduces soil aeration, nutrient intake, and crop yields. Efficient techniques to regain the cultivation potential of saturated soils are discussed in this review, where irrational irrigation methods, intense rainfalls, and improper drainage are reported as the primary causes. It assesses the effectiveness of improved drainage structures, controlled irrigation, soil dressings, and crop rotation involving water-proofed crops to augment soil structure and fertility. It also explains the application of organic matter, gypsum, and agroforestry as part of the enhanced soil permeability and minimization of waterlogging. Finally, precision methods like remote sensing and real-time soil moisture analysis are highlighted in optimizing water utilization. The conclusions indicate that incorporating these approaches can assist farmers in Khammam and Suryapet in reducing the effects of waterlogging and increasing sustainable agricultural productivity. The research presents flexible and real-world solutions for the long-term management of soil and water in comparable agro-climatic areas.
