Evolution of Social Interaction Spaces

The concept of social interaction spaces includes large social gatherings, effective communication, and performing various activities among strangers. The provision of such spaces promotes social interaction to address human needs. These spaces encourage passive engagement of people with their environment, which makes individuals aware of their surroundings. Moreover, they contribute significantly to maintaining balance in life through social connection and meaningful engagement, fostering a sense of belonging and psychological well-being. This study attempts to describe space syntax and its theory to comprehend the relationship between the idea of social interaction space and a set of theories and techniques for the analysis of spatial configurations.
Different forms of spaces, such as cafeterias, parks, and marketplaces, cater to people of all ages. These spaces serve as a relaxation from day-to-day activities. Therefore, the need for accessible and well-designed public spaces remains a major concern for architects, urban designers, and urban planners an aspect that was overlooked during the pandemic. This research provides a detailed examination of the pre-existing social interaction spaces in housing and their flaws. This study concludes that social interaction spaces have also played a major role in the development of technology, with the introduction of new tools and platforms that have made it easier to communicate and collaborate.
