Abstract

A control chart is a visual tool for identifying changes in any product's variable quality attribute. Production of the relevant product must be planned such that, given a specific objective value for the quality characteristic, the corresponding quality characteristic for the items is optimized. Our modern way of life has been greatly influenced by evolutionary and revolutionary factors, such as the focus on quality and the understanding that quality as a discipline offers robust business strategies (Duncan, 1958). Statistical quality control is a common practice in contemporary industry. Control charts are considered one of the primary methods for improving quality. Control charts for variables and attributes are two of the many control charts used. This study aims to show how employing Six Sigma-based control charts may help maintain production under control, reduce faults, and boost profit when the population is not typical.
