Abstract

The marketing problem banana cultivators’ face encompasses a complex array of challenges that hinder their ability to sell their produce and maximize profitability effectively. At the heart of this issue lies a combination of factors, including market saturation, fluctuating demand, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to distribution channels. Banana cultivators often need help with market saturation, where the supply of bananas exceeds the demand. This oversupply leads to downward pressure on prices, reducing profits for cultivators. Moreover, the perishable nature of bananas exacerbates this issue, as they have a limited shelf life, making it imperative for cultivators to sell their produce before it spoils swiftly. Compounding this challenge is the unpredictable nature of the demand for bananas. Fluctuations in consumer preferences, seasonal variations, and external factors such as weather conditions all contribute to erratic demand patterns, making it difficult for cultivators to anticipate market needs accurately. Consequently, cultivators may find themselves with surplus inventory during periods of low demand, further exacerbating their financial woes.
