Abstract

In today’s world, there is a growing need to save electricity and keep track of how much energy we use. Traditional energy meters do not provide live information or smart features. To improve this, we have developed a low-cost, IoT-based Smart Energy Meter (SEM) using the ESP32 microcontroller and the Blynk cloud platform. This system takes energy consumption data directly from a digital energy meter and sends it to the cloud using Wi-Fi. Users can view the data in real time through the Blynk mobile or web app. The system shows how many units of electricity are used, sends notifications, and helps in automated billing. It also keeps a record of past usage so users can understand their energy patterns. The main components of the system include a digital energy meter, ESP32, Wi-Fi connectivity, and the Blynk platform for visualization and control. This setup helps users become more aware of their energy usage and manage it more effectively using modern technology.
