Abstract

The rapidly developing field of nanotechnology has attracted a lot of attention lately. Its uses are numerous and varied, and it entails the manipulation of matter at the atomic or molecular level. Mechanical engineering is one area where nanotechnology has demonstrated enormous promise and significance. The field of mechanical engineering is concerned with the creation, manufacturing, and use of apparatus, buildings, and systems. It has been instrumental in creating the modern world, from the invention of steam engines during the Industrial Revolution to the current manufacturing of highly developed cars and aeroplanes. Mechanical engineering is making significant progress thanks to nanotechnology, which is opening up new avenues and expanding the realm of what is feasible. Nanotechnology is now a vital tool in the mechanical engineering field. Its contributions have led to significant advancements in the areas of nano 3D printing, performance improvement and durability, development of sensors and actuators, and energy consumption reduction in mechanical engineering systems performance. These developments have improved mechanical engineering's efficacy and functionality while also benefiting society and the environment. Nanotechnology has also fundamentally altered the manufacturing process in mechanical engineering. Nanotechnology's precision and control enable the creation of smaller and more intricate components, which leads to the development of micro and nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS and NEMS). These systems have opened up new possibilities in the fields of actuators, sensors, and medical devices.
