Semi-automatic techniques have been developed to cut down on labor needs while increasing productivity and efficiency in cashew nut cutting to overcome the drawbacks of manual methods. Enhancing the process of effectively cracking cashew shells and extracting the kernels is the goal of the proposed semi-automated cashew nut-cutting machine. The machine's robust core structure was thoughtfully built to provide structural stability and support for every component. The cutter has cutting edges positioned strategically in the center, which splits cashew shells efficiently. These blades are driven by the wiper motor, which applies controlled force to break the shells apart while causing the fewest injuries to the kernels inside. The most crucial part of keeping the cashew nuts securely in place while being cut is the holder next to the cutter. The tray collects broken shells and extracts kernels underneath the cutter assembly. The working model of the prototype shows that the proposed semi-automated cashew nut-cutting machine significantly increases the cutting speed by processing more nuts per minute and guarantees that fewer nuts shatter or get damaged than other conventional methods. Thus, the proposed semi-automated cashew nut-cutting machine enhances the overall productivity of the industrial process. In the cashew processing sector, the proposed semi-automated raw cutting method combines human labor with technology to increase productivity, lower labor costs, and guarantee consistent quality.
