TourGenie: AI-powered Travel Guide

Abstract

Despite its natural beauty, rich tribal heritage, and cultural diversity, Jharkhand is still underrepresented online in India’s travel industry. This study introduces a smart digital platform that combines real-time data, artificial intelligence (AI), and contemporary web technologies to support eco and cultural tourism in Jharkhand. An AI-powered itinerary planner, a multilingual chatbot, and real-time hotel and destination integration through APIs like Google Places and OpenWeather are some of the ways the platform customizes travel experiences. Through an integrated marketplace, it also links local homestays, craftspeople, and vendors with international travellers, encouraging sustainable travel and regional economic development. The system utilises a Python-based AI module for sentiment analysis and recommendation, a Java (Spring Boot) backend for secure RESTful APIs, and a React.js frontend with Tailwind CSS for responsiveness. Additionally, tourism authorities can track visitor trends, sentiment feedback, and regional growth patterns in real-time with the help of an Admin Analytics Dashboard. This project fosters eco-friendly and culturally conscious tourism in Jharkhand by combining technological intelligence with cultural diversity to create an inclusive, scalable, and data-driven tourism framework that empowers both tourists and local communities.
