Advancing Creative Education in Higher Learning Using the Application of AI: A Research Agenda

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing creative education in higher learning, reshaping how creativity is fostered, assessed, and aligned with workforce needs. The integration of generative and adaptive AI tools into curricula and teaching practices offers unprecedented opportunities for personalized learning, enhanced student engagement, and innovative forms of creative expression. Yet, these advancements also introduce complex challenges related to ethics, equity, pedagogy, and institutional strategy. This study synthesizes current research on the application of AI in creative higher education, critically evaluates the innovations and dilemmas arising from this intersection, and proposes a comprehensive research agenda to guide future inquiry and practice. By addressing both the transformative potential and the risks of AI-driven creative education, this paper aims to advance responsible, inclusive, and future-ready approaches to integrating AI into higher education.
