Abstract

This study introduces an online voice-based banking platform that performs banking tasks through voice-based commands in multiple languages to make the entire process simple and safe. Many of the users in India have issues with text-based banking apps due to many reasons, including illiteracy, an old user interface, and language issues. The new system, in addition to accepting voice command in the user’s preferred language—such as English, Hindi, or Kannada, and others—also enables users to perform simple banking tasks, including logging in, checking their account balance, and transferring money. In addition, it will incorporate voice recognition in its interaction, face recognition in making secure access, and a 4-digit pin in authorizing transactions. The newly developed full-fledged system is based on a tech stack consisting of Python, Flask, MongoDB, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, and Google text-to-speech that ensures the smooth processing and responsive behavior of the voice feature. The central interface provides multilingual feedback and provides the user with easy navigation, whereas the administrators can maintain the user records and oversee the operations via a secure portal. The system, via the interactive voice response features, is an alternative to the traditional banking interfaces for the tech-illiterate users or users with physical disabilities, and thus enables financial inclusion. The possibilities of the future could be to upgrade the voice biometrics, support more local languages, and connect with mobile banking applications, not only to make it more accessible but to earn even more trust on the part of the users.
