A Remotely Operated Humidity and Temperature Tracking System Powered by Cloud Technology
Abstract
Ensuring optimal environmental conditions is essential across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and smart homes. This project presents an IoT-based temperature and humidity monitoring system that enables real-time tracking and reporting of environmental parameters, supporting informed decision-making and automation. Using the DHT11 sensor, the system accurately captures temperature and humidity data, which is processed by microcontrollers such as Arduino or ESP8266 that also manage wireless communication. Sensor data is processed at regular intervals and displayed locally on an LCD and remotely via cloud platforms like ThingSpeak. With IoT integration, users can monitor conditions remotely and receive alerts when parameters exceed defined thresholds, making it ideal for applications like greenhouse management, industrial safety, and climate-sensitive storage. The solution is cost-effective, scalable, and promotes real-time decision-making. Future enhancements could include cloud analytics, machine learning for predictive maintenance, and advanced automation, showcasing the role of smart sensing in environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
