Abstract

Rapid urbanization and the increasing number of vehicles have created significant challenges in parking management, leading to congestion, inefficient land use, and environmental concerns. This project proposes a smart car parking system that utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technology to enable real-time parking space monitoring and management. The system integrates ultrasonic sensors to detect vehicle presence and a NodeMCU microcontroller to process sensor data. The collected data is transmitted to the ThingSpeak cloud platform using WiFi, allowing users to access parking availability information remotely.
A web application developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript provides an intuitive user interface to check parking status in real-time from any internet-connected device. This approach significantly reduces the time drivers spend searching for parking spaces, thereby decreasing traffic congestion and lowering vehicle emissions. The project demonstrates an efficient blend of embedded systems, cloud computing, and web development, offering a scalable and cost-effective solution for modern urban parking challenges.
