A Review on Smart Pill Technology – Revolutionizing the Health Care System
Keywords:
Digital pills, Drug delivery, Digital health, Healthcare system, Real-Time monitoring, Therapeutic smart pillsAbstract
Smart pill technology represents a groundbreaking advancement in medical diagnostics and treatment delivery, combining ingestible devices with sensors, electronics, and wireless communication. These pills offer a range of applications, from monitoring internal health conditions to enhancing drug delivery precision. One of the primary uses of smart pills is to track physiological data, such as temperature, pH levels, and digestive system movement, which can provide valuable insights into a patient’s health. Additionally, smart pills equipped with sensors help ensure medication adherence by sending notifications to patients or healthcare providers when a dose has been taken. This technology is particularly useful in managing chronic conditions, where strict adherence to medication schedules is critical. Moreover, smart pills can be designed to release medication at specific times or locations within the body, improving treatment efficacy by providing controlled, targeted delivery. As this technology continues to evolve, it has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by offering personalized treatments, real-time monitoring, and more efficient therapeutic solutions. Despite challenges such as regulatory hurdles and patient privacy concerns, smart pills hold significant promise in enhancing patient care, making healthcare management more precise, and providing innovative solutions for complex medical needs.
