Abstract

The new border in medicine is the study of traditional medicine. Holoptelea Integrifolia plant extracts, rich in secondary metabolites, have long been used to treat frequent skin diseases and pain. It is widely used in parts of China, India, Myanmar and is also known as the Indian ermbraum or jungle cork tree. Pharmacological studies show that isolated secondary metabolites such as terpenoids, sterols, tannins, Saponins, alkaloids and other biomolecules are useful in treating and reducing symptoms of rheumatism, cancer and various skin infections. Although it is a promising option in preventive medicine, research is still needed to determine toxicity and pursue the biochemical interactions of these molecules with target organs.
