Abstract

Since Nano emulsions in cosmetics and personal care are relatively new technologies, they all provide an advantage in enhancing delivery, stability, and efficacy of active ingredients. This review deals with formulation, pros and cons, future perspective, and the application of nano-emulsion systems in cosmetics and personal care products. Relevant academic and industrial databases were searched for papers and studies on the topic of interest. It mentions the beneficial points of Nano emulsions being able to capture the attention of contemporary cosmetics because the active ingredients in skin and hair care products are also improved due to better sensory properties. Nano emulsion type systems gain even greater advantages by increasing the physical and chemical obstruction of active ingredients. They are then better targeted toward the skin and release of active ingredients. Due to their advantages in skin care, hair care, make-up, fragrance, and much more, these are increasingly finding relevance. These positive points seem to have been mentioned in isolation; however, there are several general considerations such as cost effectiveness, safety, and control aspects of such products. In the concluding part, this review will highlight potential avenues for the new product development in cosmetics and personal care arising from the promising enhancement of coating performance attributed to nano-emulsions of the thin films of coating materials.
