Abstract

Fatigue is a common and challenging symptom in children undergoing chemotherapy, affecting 70-100% of patients and impacting their ability to perform daily activities and engage in social interactions. Causes of fatigue are complex, involving factors such as anemia, sleep disturbances, psychological stress, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, and physical inactivity. These contribute to difficulties in cognitive functioning and educational and social development. Effective management requires a multidisciplinary approach, including pharmacological treatments, nutritional support, physical activity, psychological counselling, sleep hygiene, and integrative therapies. Accurate assessment tools are vital for personalized care. Continued research and improved clinical practices aim to alleviate fatigue, enhancing the quality of life for pediatric oncology patients.
