Abstract

Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge of adolescents and adult females regarding anemia, to find out the association between selected demographic variable and knowledge, and to find out the association between pretest knowledge and posttest knowledge.

Methods: The research design adopted for the study was a descriptive study design. The study was carried out Among 100 adolescents and adult females of aged between 15-45 years in rural area of Chandakavadi, Chamarajanagar. The convenient sampling technique was used to select the data by obtained using multiple choice questionnaires. Data was analyzed and Interpretated using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Results: The findings of the study revealed that out of 100 adults. Majority (38%) adolescent and adult females belong to the age group of 25–35-year, (39%) 39 adolescents and adult females had educated above PUC, (72%)72 belongs to nuclear family, (96%) 96 belongs to Hindu Religion, (65%) 65 were house wife’s, (74%) 74 samples income was 5000 to 10000.

The relationship between demographic variable and knowledge determined that there was a weak relationship between the demographic variables and knowledge, the significant is too high (12.59) hence they can say that there is no relationship between the demographic variables and knowledge in the present study.
