Obesity during pregnancy is a growing global health concern with significant implications for maternal and fetal outcomes. Pregnancy-related problems, including gestational diabetes, Preeclampsia, and cesarean birth, are linked to Obesity. It also poses challenges for effective antenatal care, including difficulty in monitoring fetal growth and interpreting diagnostic tests. For the fetus, maternal Obesity increases the likelihood of congenital anomalies, macrosomia, and preterm birth. Furthermore, long-term consequences include a higher risk of childhood obesity and metabolic disorders. The physiological and hormonal changes induced by Obesity can exacerbate pregnancy-related complications, impacting maternal health and neonatal well-being. Addressing Obesity through preconception counseling, weight management strategies, and tailored antenatal care can mitigate risks and improve outcomes. This abstract highlights the urgent need for integrated healthcare approaches to manage Obesity in pregnancy, emphasizing its importance for safeguarding maternal and child health.
