Cross-Sectional Survey on Knowledge, Attitude, and Knowledge of Practice about the Use of Emergency Contraceptive Pills

Emergency Contraception (EC) ease of use and awareness is still deficient. Nursing students are the mainstay of the prospective healthcare structure. Therefore, the present study was carried out to judge the knowledge, attitudes, and knowledge of practice concerning the utilization of emergency contraceptive tablets as a way of abstinence among female nursing students from selected nursing institutes of Udaipur. The study was carried out using a descriptive cross-sectional quantitative research design. Sixteen participants were chosen for the study using systematic random sampling. Results discovered that 80% of participants had heard about emergency contraceptive pills, 63.33% of participants alleged that emergency contraceptive tablets avoid not needed pregnancy, and 46.67% stated that it is a must to use emergency contraceptive tablets within 72 hours of sexual contact. According to 41.67% of participants, emergency contraceptive tablets reduce the termination of unwanted pregnancy and its consequences. 46.67% of the ECP users stopped it because of Nausea and vomiting. Demographic variables such as age in years (χ2=7.01), marital status (χ2=75.5), and study of the year (χ2=8.10) were found to be significantly connected with knowledge attitude and knowledge of practice level concerning the utilization of emergency contraceptive tablets as a way of abstinence amongst female nursing undergraduates.
