Abstract

In today’s competitive work environment efficiency and effectiveness are the two main parameters used to measure the performance of work carried out by individuals. Improving both efficiency and effectiveness are said to be the challenging tasks in a shop floor environment. In fast-growing industrial systems automation and robotics play an important role in shop floor activities like inspection, assembly etc. In this paper, the focus is on inspection operations performed in shop floor systems.  Robots are used in Inspection activities to carry out the basic tasks. Hence robots are highly more efficient and effective in performing basic tasks with more accuracy and precision. An attempt has been made to perform a simulation experiment for inspection operations with the aid of a Robo simulation solver. In addition to that case study is also presented in this paper to illustrate the simulation experiment of inspection operation in a shop floor control environment. Through simulation one can able to analyze the flaws present in part by automatic inspection using robots.
