Optic fiber connections have enabled efficient and dependable data transmission over long distances. It uses light to carry data instead of traditional copper-based systems and has benefits such as high bandwidth, resistance to electromagnetic interference, and low signal loss. The foundations of optical fiber communication, its historical evolution, enabling technologies, and diverse applications are discussed in this paper. It also covers the technology's developments, advantages, and guiding principles.
