Abstract

This research examines how Uttarakhand's local food promotes travel and stimulates the economy. India's gorgeous mountainous state of Uttarakhand is known for its breathtaking natural scenery and extensive culinary legacy. This study examines how the region's identity and visitor satisfaction are influenced by its cuisine, cultural features, and tourism resources. It investigates how sensory experiences and cultural backgrounds affect tourists' perceptions of traditional dishes and how food neophobia affects gastronomic preferences. The study emphasizes the value of genuine dining experiences in raising visitor satisfaction and fostering repeat business. It emphasizes how important it is to sell food effectively and how the hotel sector helps to create favourable opinions of regional cuisine. A detailed discussion was held about the state government's Uttarakhand Cuisine Revival Initiative. Through culinary festivals, environmentally friendly farming methods, and educational initiatives, this project seeks to protect and promote regional food traditions, encouraging community involvement and guaranteeing the survival of local culinary history. The results indicate that Uttarakhand's culinary tourism can be significantly increased by a concerted effort that includes local stakeholders and government initiatives. Uttarakhand can boost its tourism appeal by highlighting the distinct flavours and nutritional worth of its native cuisine and incorporating these efforts into its broader tourism strategy. This study emphasizes how regional food can draw large numbers of visitors and serve as a catalyst for the expansion of sustainable tourism. This will ultimately help Uttarakhand's economy and preserve its cultural heritage.
