Global Trends in Solar Energy: Technological Advancements and Policy Implications
Keywords:
Renewable energy sources, Solar energy, Solar energy storage, Solar power generation, Solar thermal energyAbstract
This review examines the impact of India's energy policies on solar energy adoption, focusing on government initiatives, the role of the government projects, new technologies like Dyson sphere, etc. It also considers factors like cost reduction, renewable energy targets, and the broader context of India's energy needs. This review also explores from recent research on solar energy, examining its current status, technological advancements, and policy implications, drawing from three sources: a study on solar energy systems in India, a global dataset of Photovoltaic (PV) solar units, Dyson sphere and a study building on the momentum of solar energy change. The review also highlights the rapid increase in the usage of solar energy in global electric markets, the importance of machine learning for mapping solar installations, and the crucial role of policy in overcoming barriers to the increase the usage of solar power. It shifts the dependency from fossil fuels to renewable resources, particularly solar power, as a key strategy for decarbonization, and provides an understanding of land use trends at solar energy locations. We can say that solar energy is the energy emitted by the Sun, which is processed through technologies like photoelectric systems and solar transduces to generate electricity. It is a renewable, inexhaustible, and non-polluting energy source, offering potential to meet global energy demands sustainably while reducing greenhouse gas emissions problems.
