Abstract

This research investigates the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) on data privacy, highlighting AI’s dual role: enhancing data protection through technologies such as encryption and anomaly detection while introducing risks related to profiling and surveillance. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study incorporates qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, and case studies to evaluate AI’s impact on privacy frameworks, compliance, and user trust. Findings demonstrate significant improvements in data breach detection and regulatory compliance while underscoring the necessity for ethical governance and regulatory frameworks to mitigate risks. The research concludes by offering practical recommendations for ethical AI adoption.
