Design and Development of an IoT-Based Hydration Reminder System

In our modern, fast-paced lifestyle, maintaining adequate hydration levels is crucial for overall well-being. Dehydration can lead to various health issues, including fatigue, headaches, and impaired cognitive function while many individuals are aware of the importance of hydration, they often struggle to maintain consistent water intake throughout the day due to busy schedules and distractions. To address this challenge, we propose a Hydration Reminder System integrated into smartwatches, leveraging their ubiquity and constant presence on the user's wrist. Our system utilizes a combination of personalized hydration goals, real-time monitoring of water intake, and intelligent reminders to encourage users to stay hydrated effectively. Dehydration is a significant health concern, often underestimated and overlooked in daily life. Smartwatches, with their ubiquity and sensor capabilities, present an opportunity to address this issue by integrating hydration reminders and monitoring systems.
We introduce a novel approach that utilizes the measurement of peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels as a proxy for monitoring dehydration.
