Abstract

Energy plays a critical role in driving economic growth and development. The ongoing processes of industrialization and urban expansion have significantly increased the demand for electrical power. This escalating demand has intensified the necessity to explore and develop alternative energy sources to ensure a sustainable and reliable energy supply. Electricity generated from biomass fuel is a form of renewable energy that is increasingly playing a vital role in supporting economic development. This project focuses on the production of electricity from biogas using a steam engine. Biogas, primarily composed of methane and carbon dioxide, is produced through the anaerobic digestion of organic waste. The generated biogas is used as a fuel to heat water, producing steam. The high-pressure steam is then directed to a steam engine, where it drives a piston connected to a dynamo motor, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.

The project explores the design and integration of a biogas-based steam engine system, emphasizing efficient combustion of biogas, optimal steam generation, and effective steam energy conversion. Key components include a biogas digester, steam engine, and dynamo motor. The system aims to provide a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly solution for power generation, particularly in rural and agricultural areas. This approach not only reduces dependence on fossil fuels but also helps manage organic waste efficiently, contributing to environmental sustainability. The project evaluates the efficiency, reliability, and economic feasibility of the system with a focus on improving overall performance and scalability for future applications.
