Abstract

Integrating Quality of Experience (QoE)-based design in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem is pivotal in enhancing user satisfaction and system performance. While traditional IoT design focuses primarily on functionality, connectivity, and scalability, QoE emphasizes the end user's perception of service quality. This approach is crucial in an increasingly interconnected world, where devices must operate reliably and meet user expectations for responsiveness, efficiency, and personalization. QoE-driven design in IoT focuses on key factors such as device responsiveness, real-time performance, user interface design, and adaptability to varying network conditions. IoT systems can dynamically adjust their behavior by monitoring and responding to real-time user feedback to ensure consistent performance, minimize latency, and optimize resource utilization. This leads to improved device interoperability, reduced energy consumption, and better network efficiency, providing a more seamless and enjoyable user experience. QoE-based design is vital in applications such as smart homes, healthcare, and industrial IoT, where user-centric performance is critical. By prioritizing QoE, IoT ecosystems can evolve to meet functional and experiential demands, ensuring higher user engagement and accelerating the widespread adoption of IoT technologies. Ultimately, QoE-based design fosters a more sustainable, efficient, and user-friendly IoT landscape.
