Abstract

One of the important emotional problems in students is anger. There are many occasions in everyday life for the arousal of anger. Interference with one's desires and wishes is one of the chief reasons for anger in students. A study to assess the effectiveness of Self- Instructional Modules on the factors causing anger and coping strategies among B.Sc. Nursing students at PIPRAMS, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh”. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Self-Instructional Module on the factors causing anger and coping strategies among B.Sc. Nursing students at PIPRAMS, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The research design selected for the study was a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample size for the study was 60, who were selected from the College of PIPRAMS, Greater Noida. -A probability purposive sampling technique was adopted for the study to select the sample. 5 point Likert scale & rating scale was used as a tool to assess the factor causing anger and coping strategies among B.Sc. nursing student. The administration of a self-instructional module of the coping strategy was given for 20 min daily for 2 weeks which included time management for students, problem-solving and decision-making, making time for fun and relaxation, and deep breathing exercises. The result shows in the Pre-test of factors causing anger and coping strategies among B.Sc. nursing students has maximum of 40 B.Sc. Nursing students had moderate factors causing anger and coping strategies. Followed by 18 B.Sc. Nursing students had severe factors causing anger and coping strategies and the remaining 2 B.Sc. Nursing students had mild factors causing anger and coping strategies. In Post-test of the factor causing anger and coping strategies among BSc nursing students was a maximum of 37 B.Sc. Nursing students had moderate factors causing anger and coping strategies. Followed by 22 B.Sc. Nursing students had mild factors causing anger and coping strategies and the remaining 1 B.Sc. Nursing students had severe factors causing anger and coping strategies. The result shows that the post-test knowledge score mean of B.Sc. Nursing students lower than the pre-test knowledge score mean with the enhancement of 28.5. The statistically paired “t’ test is found to be 5.794 which is greater than the table value p=0.00 which implies that the difference in pre-test and post-test knowledge score is found statistically significant at 0.05 level hence the self-instructional module on coping strategy was effective on the factor causing anger and coping strategies among B.Sc. nursing student at PIPRAMS, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
