Abstract

Parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) confront daily obstacles that are rarely addressed in research. Research on the challenges parents face when raising a kid with ASD is scarce. 1 in 270 children in the world are estimated to have autism. In India, 1 in every 68 children have autism spectrum disorder. The common symptoms of autism spectrum disorder are: repetitive habits, impaired communication difficulty talking and poor eye contact. The challenges faced by parents are their child is unable to follow the daily schedule, unable to communicate with others, socially isolating, financial constraints, emotional physical mental problem Five primary categories emerged from an in-depth examination of the data: coping with difficult behaviour, accepting criticism from others, lack of support, family impact, and adjusting to the requirement for suitable assistance. The results indicate the areas in which parents feel they still need support and highlight important techniques and resources that they have found useful. Researchers, doctors, mental health professionals, and legislators can use these findings to better understand and support the special needs of families raising children with ASD.
