Impact of Occupational Stress on Employee Performance

Occupational stress today results in the disengagement of employees from their jobs and adversely affects the performance as well as the personal life of the employees, resulting in fatigue, anxiety, depression, and social isolation. This study examines the effects of various factors on workplace stress environment and employee performance. The data was collected from 70 workers in Haryana by a self-structured questionnaire and a stratified random sampling technique. Descriptive statistics and regression and correlation methods were used in the study to achieve the research objectives. Investigating the effect of occupational stress, the variables related to stress are the effect of job assignment, role accountability, and technology. The study's conclusions demonstrated a strong correlation between occupational stress and workers' performance in the educational field.
Work stress environment and employee performance are favourably and strongly correlated with the work environment. Additionally, job attractiveness has detrimental effects by acting as a mediator between occupational stress and worker performance. It also has a significant influence as a mediator between a stressful work environment and employee performance.
