Filtering Falsehoods: A Machine Learning Approach in Fake News

Abstract

The main topic of society is the rapid distribution of misleading information, especially on social media and other internet channels. Fake news has the power to influence public opinion, stifle social unrest, and interfere with democratic processes. We examine key contexts, linguistic traits, and semantic features that set bogus news apart from real news. We will also look at the roles of network analysis, fact-checking, and hybrid approaches that blend artificial intelligence with human expertise. Our approach also takes into account the drawbacks of contemporary models, such as biased educational data and hostile detection techniques. This study also highlights some of the ethical concerns and challenges associated with automated fake news identification, including the possibility of censorship, false positives, and the dynamic nature of disinformation tactics. It highlights the need for an interdisciplinary strategy to integrate technological advances, state regulations, and media literacy. Future research projects should concentrate on increasing real-time detection capabilities, enhancing model interpretability, and promoting collaboration between AI academics, journalists, and politicians to create a more resilient information ecosystem.
