Abstract

Digital remote voting systems, which provide safe, scalable, and easily available substitutes for conventional booth-based elections, are revolutionising political engagement. In this article, a Digital Voting Machine (DVM) that combines encrypted vote storage, biometric authentication, and real-time result computation is designed and implemented. Secure software modules and Aadhaar-based identity verification are used to support the microcontroller-based interface that forms the foundation of the system design. System design, hardware-software integration, requirement analysis, security implementation, and deployment are all part of an organised development lifecycle. Global developments in blockchain integration, biometric security, and mobile voting are highlighted in the literature study. Significant gains in vote accuracy (99.8%), voting time reduction (40%), and tamper detection (100% success) are demonstrated by prototype testing. Improved stakeholder engagement, cost effectiveness, and voter turnout are all confirmed by graphic analysis. The study comes to the conclusion that DVMs help modernise electoral infrastructure by providing a dependable and inclusive option for large-scale elections.
