Abstract

This article discusses the design and execution of a Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV) battery charging system that comprises a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and a Battery Monitoring System (BMS). In contrast, the BMS monitors the battery's State of Charge (SoC) and anticipates range based on SoC, while the MPPT monitors the solar panels' maximum power output. The system communicates with the user and manages the charging process using a microcontroller-based circuit. These experiments are carried out on a prototype SEV. An application that runs in the browser displays the SoC and ranges of the results.
